Avian Photographic Workshop with Greg Downing and Arthur Morris

Join me for 10 days with the birds of the tundra in Nome, Alaska. The birds will display in their fabulous breeding plumage on the vast and open arctic tundra, making this the opportunity of a lifetime for anyone interested in bird photography of nesting arctic birds!

Arthur Morris and I will be sharing our talents on this trip and sharing nest sites and other info via GPS. In addition, we will be holding joint critiquing and PhotoShop teaching sessions. Long lenses a necessity!

Possible photographic subjects include:

Red Throated Loon, Mew Gull, Black-legged Kittiwake, Arctic and Aleutian Tern, Black-bellied, Pacific Golden, and American Golden-Plovers, Semipalmated and Western Sandpipers, Dunlin, Whimbrel, Gyrfalcon with chicks (and also a set-up with falconry birds), Semi-plover, RN Phalarope, Musk Ox, Bar-tailed Godwit, Common Redpoll, Golden crowned Sparrow, Grey-cheeked Thrush, Yellow and Orange-crowned Warbler, various other landbirds including possible Asian strays, Common Raven, Long-tailed and Parasitic Jaeger, Tundra Swan, etc. Nothing is guaranteed; every year is different.
