Virginia "All Digital" Workshop
The
new and unique two-day "All Digital" workshops
are just what people have been asking for. With so many
new digital shooters these days there are very few opportunities
to learn the nuances of digital nature photography in
a small, informal setting.
Whether
you're new to digital photography or just feel overwhelmed
with all the things you have to learn, these workshops
are the answer to getting a boost in your digital photography
skills.
With
intensive lessons on digital imaging, digital workflow
and digital editing techniques, we will cover a lot
of ground in two days! Plus, with in-the-field instruction
at one of the most beautiful locations on the east coast
this one is not to be missed!
Topics
to be discussed during this workshop include:
- Getting
the most out of your digital camera.
- The
histogram and how to interpret accurate exposures.
- Image
transfer and storage considerations.
- Archival
strategies.
- Setting
up a digital darkroom, calibrating etc.
- Optimizing
your image - dynamic range and color balance.
- Working
with adjustment layers.
- Sizing
photos and understanding resolution.
- Sharpening.
- Printing
demonstrations.
And more!
We
will have a complete state-of-the art desktop system
on site as well as an epson archival printer. Demonstrations
will be done on a digital projector and students will
be able to follow along on their laptops. Printing and
sharpening demonstrations will be done on screen and
concurrently with a calibrated LCD monitor.
In
the field we will have opportunities to photograph the
famous Chincoteague ponies as well as some resident
deer and of course lots of birds!

Includes
two solid days (plus one evening) of extensive instruction,
slide presentations and digital imaging demonstrations,
plus 4 field shoots.

will be an orientation at 7:00 PM the evening prior
to the workshop start date (Oct 28).
